Milwaukee
Stratagem's Corporate Office is located in a suburb of
Milwaukee, a commercial and industrial center and major Great Lakes port.
With a metropolitan population of about 1.6 million people, Milwaukee
has a diverse economy and is home to many large manufacturing and financial
services companies. The metro area is headquarters to eight Fortune 500
companies.
Milwaukee was in recent years named to Fortune magazine's
list of the 15 Best Cities for Work and Family. Its ethnically rich population
enjoys a variety of neighborhoods and an extensive park system. The downtown
area has recently undergone a housing boom and expansion of its Riverwalk
system; several major redevelopment projects are also in the planning
stages. An architecturally dramatic addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum
along the city's beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline was named "Best Design
of 2001" by Time Magazine.
The Milwaukee metro area enjoys such cultural attractions
as the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Ballet Company, two opera
companies, and the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Its institutions of higher
education include Marquette University, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee,
Alverno College, the Medical College of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Institute
of Art and Design, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
